Please make sure you follow the below guidelines. They are for your safety. With the confirmation of your stay you have accepted to adhere to these rules and guidelines.
Please don't fire off fireworks. This is a danger to the very dry area and these are not allowed by the Sierra Cabrera Local Rules and Regulations. Firing of Fireworks may result in a public fine.
How to Use QR Codes:
Simply take out your smartphone or tablet and open the camera app. Point your device's camera at the QR code displayed in the binder or around the villa. The camera will automatically detect the QR code, and a notification will appear on your screen.

Mojacar has a brand new hospital for emergencies. Dial 112 in case of emergency.
There are multiple pharmacies in the surrounding villages. In case of emergency out of hours, the name and address of the on call pharmacy is displayed on all pharmacy entraces. This will change daily.

You're welcome to use all the foods and spices available in the kitchen.
Please note that many of these items may have been left behind by previous guests. While we ensure the kitchen remains clean, we kindly ask that you inspect items before use to ensure they meet your preferences. Feel free to contribute any additional items if you wish for future guests to enjoy!
We do ask to make sure you don't leave behind food in the refrigerator that can expire on the short term.
The living room and bedrooms are equipped with an Air Conditioning. Use the controls to use them. Turn them on and select your temperature. Close all doors and windows when using the Air Conditioning.
Energy is expensive. As with water, we need to conserve our energy as well. Only use the Air Conditioning when you are present in the villa. The AC’s are of high quality and they cool down the rooms very quickly. It is not necessary to have them cool any rooms when you’re out. If over-usage is detected a fee corresponding with that usage will be deducted from your warranty.
The switchboard is located in the small hallway leading up to the “middle” bedroom next to the door going outside. In case of a power cut, switch on the black switches before flipping the red master switch.
We have recently upgraded the amount of energy that can be processed by the house and added solar panels to the villa. This means that we ask you to use the dishwasher and washing machine during 'sun-hours' instead of at night.
While the power grid in Spain is dependable, it's essential to be mindful of energy usage within our villa. Overusing multiple appliances simultaneously may occasionally cause the circuit to overload, leading to a temporary power shut-off. We kindly request that you help us conserve energy by being mindful of your appliance usage, especially during peak hours.
By using electricity responsibly, you'll not only contribute to a more sustainable environment but also ensure a comfortable and uninterrupted stay at our villa.
There are 2 water heaters.
One water heater is located outside and supplies warm water to the bathroom of the 1st bedroom.
The second water heater is located inside the kitchen, near the window. This one supplies warm water to the second bathroom located in the middle of the house and also supplies gas for the central heating system. This should be turned on, but in case of a power outage, this may have been disabled. In this case you need to turn it back on.
Located below the second water heater OR (in wintertime) on the living room table, you will find the console to use the central heating system. You can check the heaters and turn them open or close, based on where you want to use the heating system. The rooms heat up quickly. Gas is expensive, so please don't leave it on all the time.
Rubbish is collected twice a week. Please use the rubbish bags provided in the bottom drawer by the cooker. The rubbish bags for collection should be placed in the small cupboard at the top of the drive.
Collection is 2 times a week.
As a guest of ours, this service is free of charge for you.
No smoking inside the house.
No Pets allowed.
Please respect your neighbours by keeping noice to a minimum, especially between 10pm and 8am.
No parties.
Make sure all AC's are off, lights are off, doors and windows are locked when leaving the property.
Use an anti-cal tablet with every wash and washing machine gel. These are complementary provided for your convenience during your stay.
Pool towels or sheets: 30 min
Normal wash : 40 degrees on eco-mode
Use an anti-cal tablet and a dishwasher tablet with every use. These are complementary provided for your convenience during your stay. Due to low rainfall, there might be a lot of calcium in the water. Therefore, the tablets will help improve the cleaning greatly.
Start:
In the event of a power cut, you will need to reset the oven to operate it. Press the following 2 buttons together and the oven will reset without needing to reset the clock.
We want to ensure your stay at Casa Estrella is as comfortable and pleasant as possible. To maintain the proper functioning of our bathrooms, we kindly ask that you avoid disposing of any items other than toilet paper in the toilets. Please use the provided waste bins for items such as tissues, sanitary products, and wipes. This small gesture will help us keep the plumbing in excellent condition and ensure a seamless experience during your time with us.
The sink of the smaller bathroom has a pressure sink drain valve. So if the water is not flowing away, press the valve.
Using the button on the remote will allow you to login to your Netflix, Disney+ or Amazon Plus accounts. Some options are already on the homescreen. This can be accessed by clicking the button that looks like a home in the middle of the remote. (Between the button for Netflix and Amazon).
Do not forget to log out yourself!
The fireplace is operational but there is central heating in the house so it should not be used.
Swimming pool maintenance is done on Monday and Thursday between 8am and 9am. Expect someone from outside to enter the premise for the maintenance. Do not touch the controls, the filters, pumps or any cleaning accessories. The pool filtering system works automatically.
Rules for the pool
It is crucial to abide by the swimming pool rules provided for the security and enjoyment of all. Failure to comply with these rules may result in withholding a portion of the warranty you paid. We kindly request your cooperation in adhering to these guidelines to ensure a pleasant and incident-free stay at Casa Estrella.
Check-in will be provided by our partner 'Vamos a Vera'. They will be your host during your stay. Check-in is after 2pm. You will be handed 2 sets of keys and all amenities will be explained during a tour of the villa.
Check-out is before 11am. During check-in and your stay, the arrangement can be made with 'Vamos a Vera' to check you out.
Upon departure, we kindly ask our guests to ensure that the villa is left in a tidy and decent condition. While there's no need for extensive cleaning, a simple sweep and storage of dishes will greatly assist our cleaning team and you can take the final garbage to the garbage storage at the entrance.
This small effort helps us maintain the beauty and comfort of the villa for all our valued guests.
A final check of the house will be made after your departure by the team and if everything is in order, your warranty will be released 2 days afterwards. During this time we check the energy and water consumption, any irregularities and damages to the house.
We will contact you within those 48H in case we see reason to withhold the warranty.
